How To Measure For a Custom Corset

We recommend custom orders using your measurments.

A well-fitting and comfortable corset starts with an accurate set of measurements, that we suggest be taken by someone else, since it is difficult to maintain accuracy when measuring yourself. We cannot be responsible if you mis-measure, or fail to update us while waiting for your corset or garment if your measurements change.

please read and carefully follow the guidelines below:

We Suggest that you first tie a string snugly around and anchor your waistline before taking measurements and to help us evaluate your measurements and watch for any potential errors please take .jpg pictures and email both the filled out measurments below and pictures to  Ted.Farmer@TRAC-Leather.com )   ...  Save the pictures as you measure ... we will use the measurements and pictures to make your custom corset.

Please note:
1. underbust corset orders require measurements nos. 2 through 7, 9 through 11, E, F
2. overbust corset orders require measurements nos. 1 through 11
3. chemise orders require measurements 1 through 9, 14, D through J
4. Number 2 below refers to the rib cage horizontal measurement located just underneath the bosom/chest swell, or around the bra underwire. Hold the tape measure absolutely horizontally and do not let it drop in back. Have someone measure you while you are relaxed with yours arms down, breathing normally. This should not be a tight measurement which could result in the unsightly squeezing of the upper body flesh over the top edge of your corset.
5."Snug" waist measurement in item 3 below means: place tape closely against your natural waistline where you wear your skirt or pants waistband (generally measure one inch above bellybutton for a feminine waistline, one inch below for masculine waistline). If you are not able to move the tape measure around your body but it "stick" to your skin, then this is the proper "snug" measurement.
6. Most clients new to corsetry start with a 4" waistline reduction when the corset eventually closes in back, however, this depends upon your body size and shape, comfort with restriction, muscle tone, and goals of corseting. Those having more experience with corsets can usually lace down further than that. Suggest what you desire, and we will alert you if we suggest some other restriction.
* Please measure as close to the skin as possible. For overbust styles, you may wear a bra and measure over it, in order to insure proper cleavage and lift in your corset.
* Have someone measure 3 times and take the middle measurement.

11. Waist to center of nipple (wear a bra to take this measurement)_________________
12. Waist to bottom of corset or garment __________ (For corsets, this should be from your waist low enough to cover your tummy "fat" but not so low as to poke into your "privates." Rather than use a tape measure, it is best to use a ruler to take this particular measurement because it will push in toward your torso just like the corset will do. Take this measurement several times while sitting down and several times while standing up. Those measurements will likely be different, so report the average. For example, a person 5'6" to 5'9" tall will likely report about 4.5" for a man and about 5.5" for a woman. If you are taller, this distance may stay the same or get longer, and if you are shorter, the reverse. Photos of your torso will help us determine if you have properly averaged this measurement.)
